I qualified as a dentist at the University of Stellenbosch, where I obtained the degree B.Ch.D. (Stell.), followed by a postgraduate qualification in clinical dentistry, Pdd.Clin.Dent (Stell.). I was awarded the special award for clinical dentistry.

I grew up in the bushveld and my love of nature is reflected in being an avid cycad collector. I am an active member of the hunting association and enjoy being in the open. The sea is very special to me, thus my love for diving and fishing.

I am a family man who is loyal to my family and friends. I do not hesitate to walk that extra mile for someone. My friends can attest to my friendly nature and good sense of humor. I am a man of my word and I care about my fellow man.

My conduct testifies that I am a child of God, I live my Christian values in practice and my close relationship with my Creator is evident for all who cross my path.
